YOU

As a Technical Support Representative, you will provide assistance to the Engineering department and testing laboratory across all product lines.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(of Time)

Provide technical support and information on all Simpson products, software and services to internal and external customers including specifiers, building officials and contractors via phone and emails. Act as a liaison between customers, engineering, sales and production. (70%)

Assist Simpson Engineers with test reports, technical letters, custom hanger designs, Strong-Wall and Strong-Rod technical support and various special projects. (20%)

Provide cost analysis and value engineering on various special projects. (10%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

If you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Two-year degree, technical school certificate in Business, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in various aspects of commercial construction business, including budgeting, reading plans and familiar with common construction terminology.
  • Drafting: Interpret and understand mechanical drawings and drafting standards, create and revise drawings using AutoCad and/or Inventor
  • Communication: Ability to read, interpret, and write documents such as technical emails, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers and employees across all departments in the organization
  • Mathematics: Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, trigonometry, and geometry. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret charts and graphs.
  • Computer Skills: Must be proficient in computer data input using Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel, Access, PDF programs and Smartsheet or similar programs with the ability to learn new programs as needed
  • Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This is a full-time, non-exempt position located in Stockton, CA.

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$29.28 - 46.83/ Hour
