Our Opening and Your Responsibilities


In support of the Manufacturing and Operations of our products provide strategies, direction and daily leadership to the molding, automation, production, manufacturing and quality assurance departments. Rainin's pipettes consistently rank among the top premium pipette brands in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

As Head of Production, you will be responsible for meeting production requirements for Instruments and Consumables supported by Production, Automation and Molding managers.

  • Manages the diversity-focused employment process of the Consumables Manufacturing and Instrument Manufacturing departments employees by interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Manages and recommends Safety initiatives to ensure OSHA compliance and reduce Workers' Compensation claims.
  • Responsible for the development, performance and maintenance of the production of the organization to produce efficient production and delivery solutions, maximizing performance & profitability against pre-agreed targets.
  • Drive technology development, department strategy, and planning for molding operations. Ensure operational and quality objectives for molding department are aligned with manufacturing principles and processes.
  • Manage the product lifecycle including selection, technology transfer, manufacturing, and decommissioning. Direct the mold tool development from the prototype stage to full commercial scale tooling and process development.
  • Identifies opportunities for automation solutions.
  • Provides concepts, ROI justification and budgets for proposed automation.
  • Oversees project management of multiple concurrent projects involving both in house design and contract manufacturing.
  • Projects encompass plant layout and the specification, design, and implementation of automation solutions. Identifies, quantifies and plans for risks associated with automation projects.
  • Development and integration of automation technologies; in conjunction with implementing lean manufacturing principles and processes.
  • Analyzes and evaluates BOM and MRP/ERP systems accuracy for production.
  • Effective liaison, support and assistance between all departments of organization.
  • Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and standards, including those specifically applicable to ISO-9001 and SOX.
  • Initiates and manages key initiatives to reduce cost and improve efficiency to optimize WIP variances with systemic use of lean tools for continuous improvement.
  • Contributes to the Company's ITO (Inventory Turn Over) by maintaining the appropriate stock levels through the production schedule.
  • Works with Human Resources and Executive Management to determine staffing levels.
  • Identify, escalate, and facilitate resolution of manufacturing, supply chain, or quality issues that may adversely affect performance goals. Investigate, analyze, report, and track company and industry trends and apply lessons to molding strategy and tactics.
  • Support the development of partnerships with North America, Asia and European business partners during new product introductions.
What You Need to Succeed

  • A bachelor's degree from a four-year university with 10+ years of experience in production or manufacturing operations with 5+ years in management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to create and maintain spread sheets, databases, and data displays.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing.

  • Language skills in Spanish or Chinese in addition to English desired but not required.
