Job Summary:
Knife River Corporation is hiring an information technology (IT) internal audit intern. In this position, you will gain real-world IT auditing experience with Knife River's corporate team in Bismarck. Through their exceptional internship program, you will work closely with mentors to gain exposure to a variety of aspects in the IT and auditing fields.

Knife River became a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange in June 2023. They are one of the 10 largest construction materials producers/contractors in the country, and they're growing. Knife River takes care of their team - the people who make the company so successful.

These internship opportunities will be full-time during the summer with the possibility of shifting to about 20 hours/week during the school year to accommodate school schedules.

This internship provides the opportunity to assist in conducting audits or reviews of assigned organizational and functional activities, with a focus on IT projects. Tasks include:
* Interviewing company personnel.
* Gathering audit data or evidence.
* Preparing workpapers in the form of memos, schedules, spreadsheets, or other documentation to convey the results of audit testing procedures and conclusions.
* Preparing recommendations aimed at correcting unsatisfactory conditions, improving operations, and reducing costs.
* Data analytic projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with a major in information technology, management information systems, computer science, cybersecurity, information security, accounting, or a related field of study.
* High school diploma.
* Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office products.
* Communication skills - both verbal and written.
* Must be able to follow directions and maintain workflow in areas of responsibility.
* Ability to maintain proprietary and confidential information.
* Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
