1 - First Shift

Are you the type of person who works well with a team and thrives in a challenging but rewarding environment? In this role you will lead the effort in designing, developing, and testing embedded software for Vermeer equipment. We're looking for your leadership and experience in C, C++, Qt, Matlab/Simulink, Plant Modeling, Simulation, Machine Controls, and/or virtual testing to lead us in continuing to make our products the best in the business.

What You'll Do

1. Develop, Integrate, Test, and Debug highly complex embedded software for Vermeer machine control systems and displays.

2. Lead test technicians, as well as production and service personnel in the testing, manufacture, and servicing of our machines.

3. Utilize your embedded software expertise in providing technical leadership for highly complex systems, while mentoring less-experienced engineers and other less-technical personnel.

4. Drive the definition, analysis, and allocation of software requirements, along with developing machine-level testing approaches and procedures.

What We're Looking For

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or other Engineering field with an emphasis on embedded software with eight years direct and applicable work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Advanced mechanical and/or hydraulic aptitude to develop advanced machine functions.

- Expertise in embedded software programming languages, such as C, C++ or Qt.

- Proficient in any of the following: Artificial Intelligence, Continuous Improvement, Robotics, Machine Learning, DEVOPS (Continuous Integration/Deployment), Machine Automation.

- Leadership in designing control systems specifically for off-road vehicles, utilizing CAN (Controller Area Network) and J1939 protocols.

- Accomplished in model-based design tools including, Matlab/Simulink and/or Danfoss Plus+1 Guide.

- Proficient in design, test, and implementation of HMI (Human Machine Interface) and Virtual Instrument components and controls.

- Experienced at analyzing, developing, and writing specifications that align with stakeholder needs.

- Skilled with electronic circuits, microcontroller architectures, power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and principles of operation.

- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.

Travel

- Occasional travel is expected of this position.

HYBRID: Some of a team member's day-to-day work may be best done at a location other than a Vermeer campus. Discuss specific arrangements with your manager.
