Director Sales Compensation Strategy and Ops - HUM000687

This role can be remote based anywhere in the USCC footprint.

This position leads a team responsible for the development, delivery and operations of the Company's sales incentive compensation programs. Provides strategic direction and drives the design and implementation of effective sales incentive compensation plans and policies, including overseeing end to end process and communication with internal partners and external vendors. Ensures programs are compliant and drive results to achieve overall team and organizational goals. Responsible for optimizing sales administration, automation, data analytics and reporting. Partners closely with Sales Leadership, Finance, IT, HR/Communications and Compliance/Legal. Must be able to work within a cross-functional team environment at all levels within the organization to lead and influence.

  • Strategically partners with sales and marketing leadership teams to align incentive compensation plans to business unit strategies.
  • Leads incentive compensation development and design, modelling, implementation, reporting, and communication.
  • Manages and oversees incentive compensation program administration and compliance, including policy and process development, delivery and quality of external vendor resources and systems.
  • Provides direction and insights into best practices across multiple business channels, industry benchmarks and ensures alignment with incentive compensation guiding principles.
  • Provides ad-hoc information required to address business questions and lead and/or participate in larger salesforce effectiveness projects.
  • Provides leadership, development opportunities and mentorship to associates on team to further enhance talent and provide an engaged work environment

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent practical experience
  • CCP or CSCP certification desired
  • 10+ years in sales incentive and commission plan design, management, and administration
  • 5+ years in a leadership role with demonstrated ability to create and convey a vision, inspire, and influence others, and apply strategic and critical thinking in leading a diverse team
  • Understanding of organizational alignment/business channels, targeting, sales reporting, internal data process flow and impacts to incentive compensation
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, demonstrating empathy, engaging in active listening, and building meaningful relationships and partnerships
  • Sound business judgment and ability to make appropriate recommendations to senior leadership regarding the quality and integrity of incentive plan design and execution, including system and process support within a matrix environment
